Ok, So the new section was dry this morning. So i did the DSB and all the plumbing.
Now, I should be adding water tomorrow, And rock on the weekend.

How much LR do you think i should have for a 4x2x2? I might start off with around 20kg for now, Then add later if need be?

DSB - Sandbed is quite thick and long, So should be good filtration, And will have good flow over the top of it.

Full sump shot

Inlet pipes to the sump - Will prob add LR rubble where the inlet tube section is, Or even macro algae.

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I vote Macro Algae. Something like Cheato to help eat up some 'phates and 'trates.

Ok, Got the water in, Skimmer going (Breaking it in, Need to run it for 24hours). Skimmer seems great, Its rated for 500L-1000L and my tank is around 600L, So it should do the job nicely.

The hydro, I no they can be wrong, But this one ive had for years, It actually works. Lol

Skimmer doing what a skimmer does.

Temp is slowing going up..

And finally got the water in..

Should be getting my LR tomorrow, Starting off with 20kg to see how i like it, Then may add more depending on what it looks like.

Awsome. I think your gonna need more than 20kg though. More like at least 50kg. I've got about 20kg in my 23G
How much was your skimmer?

Yeah, I was thinking i'd want around 40-50kg. Ill just see what i can do with the 20kg at the moment.

I won the skimmer brand new off ebay, it was new in the box not even opened for $200. RRP they're $600+.. So i was pretty lucky.

Got the rock in. Got it cured straight out of someone elses tank. Been testing for ammonia and nitrites, But nothing.. So hopefully no cycle as i have my Tang, Blenny and Clam in there.

Abit clearer

Def needs more rock, Thats about 21kg there.. Im thinking another 20kg and making the rockwork a little higher. The tank needs corals, It looks naked at the moment. Lol.

Definately. I reckon 40kg-50kg and you'll be good. Nice clam.

Havent updated much recentaly. its all going good, Got more rock into it. Now have a Kole Tang with the Yellow Tang. They get along like a house on fire.
Skimmer is working great, Getting really dark skimmate off it.
Water para's are all good, Havent checked calcium and what not yet because i dont have many corals in there just yet. When i get the money to start adding corals ill start playing with them levels.

Here is a FTS of the aquascaping. Turned out really well, Really happy with it.
Only problem now is im getting this brown algae along the glass and sandbed, Its normal i know, But it looks not good at the moment.

Some poylps i got yesterday, Not fully opened yet because they take a couple of days to open. They're getting there.

With the second batch of LR i got, Got a ****load of brown button poylps on them. Im trying to get rid of them as i dont like the colour, Any suggestions?

Let me know what you think!

Dude your tank looks freaking sweet. If that was my tank I'd be proud lol. Can't wait to see what it looks like when the coralline kicks in and the coral grows out! Makes me want to start my tank so bad...
