Ok.. So i've started the whole moving process and what not.

Its been a crazy week and this is what i have so far.
The old tank. (2x2x2)

This is the new tank i got. (4x2x2)

This is all the plumbing i brought today.

Sand, Brought 2nd hand. About 200kg. (Alot i know)"000" marble mixed with crushed coral.

Ended up sifting it for the fine "000" marble. (Well payed my sisters to do it, I did abit.. Lol)

Will be using this for the DT, And the crushed coral mixed with the 000 in the sump.

The weir plumbed.

I'll update you as i go along, Now to buy more LR, Equitment, Then should be right to fill it up and start cycling.

Yeah its good, I got the tank for free, Almost new as well.

I should be getting most of my equipment this week, So should have water in it by next weekend (Easter Weekend).

Yeah i sure did, But i got some metal halides for it. Should be picking them up this week or weekend.

Got a question, Im basically going to be putting all the LR from my old tank + new LR into the 4x2x2, Will i see much of a cycle?
Im going to have new water + substrate.

Anytime you add new LR to a tank, you'll see a cycle. Depending on how much you add will relate to how big of one you'll get.

If the LR isn't cured you might see a mini-cycle so leave it fishless for two weeks and just keep testing I reckon. For sites on coral:

Just scroll down and on the left there is a list of coral retailers. I've ordered from this guy and he was very good.

Ok. So got my lights today, The two 175w MH, 15k.

I ended up screwing the two reflectors together, Worked well.

Suspended them and let them rip, Very happy with the colour, Will not know fully what it looks like under corals and what not but looks better then the 20k 250w i think.

Also got the sand in the tank.
I sold my 55G this week, So i should have all my equitment, water and rock in there hopefully this weekend.

This is how deep the lights penetrated the sand with no water in it, Pretty good imo.

Let me know what you think. Obveserly the cables and reflectors will be neatened up in due time.

Did you put the sand in before the water? Cause that's gonna make your tank wicked cloudy for a few days. Looks good though.

just be sure when yuo put water in that you do it slowly and put a plate on the sand so the water only hits the plate and slowly flows off and it wont make the tank cloudy

Yeah, Put the sand in before. All good, Because i plan to put the water in, Let it settle over a week and then add rock. If not, I'll do what yetee said.

Water should be in this week, So i'll let you know how i go.

Another cycle will depend on the the status of the new rock. If more than the old and uncured, you'll likley see a small cycle. If cured or base rock, likely no cycle will occur. Just keep the ammonia test kit ready.

Yeah it will all be cured LR. I need to get my two fish in there asap, So i'll test each day and have water changing tools on standby.

UPDATE: Getting my skimmer Friday i think, A Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 MultiSL Protein Skimmer. And should be getting my Resun 15000LPH powerhead on Friday too.

Water and Rock may go in today if i get moving.
