well just doing a little research on skimmers.. and i have 25-26" of room in my stand.. I originally wanted to go with the Reef Octopus NWB200 but that one is 23.75" high with a 1/2" clearance to remove the cup, which would leave me with less than 2" to actually clean out the cup lol

as opposed to the Reef Octopus NWB150.. yes its a smaller skimmer but its only 22.13" high with a 1/2" clearance... leaves me a lot more room...

i dont know why but im stuck on Reef Octopus bc ppl seem to talk so highly of them lol so what do you guys think?

You only need enough clearance to remove the cup not clean it under the stand :P

okay few questions that just popped into my head, my sump is only 36inches long, if i went with the bigger of the 2 skimmers, the footprint of that skimmer is almost 16inches. my ? is will 20 inches be enough for the Fuge, bubble trap, return?? im not sure how big or small a fuge should be.

on another note, u guys think i should leave my background black? or should i try n scrub off the paint and make it something different?

I would keep it black but how wide is the tank? You could possibly angle the skimmer some to save some room cause 20" for your fuge and return isn't much for a 90 gallon.

the tank is only 12inches wide and the skimmer is 15.6x10.25x23.50 so theres not really much wiggle room there. i think im gonna have to drop down to the 150 model which is 12x8.5x22.13.. its still rated up to 150g so i think it would be okay

That should be fine and that one you could turn sideways and only need a 9" skimmer chamber leaving over 2' for fuge and return.
