digital thermometer

so i managed to break my thermometer and was wondering if i could use a digital one that is used for cooking and things? i dont see why not id just like to see what other people think.

I think if you don't use one that was designed for saltwater it will corrode and leach it's components into the water. I believe the probes made for aquariums are made of titanium, at least they used to be.
