Disappearing snails...

Since we set up the tank we started to have problems maintaining a population of Astra snails. At first we thought some fish were the problem. But today i found a hitch hiking snail that i think might be killing them. Look top corner of the picture

It looks like a conch, but they don't stick to rock? Is there a hermit in there?
