Def a newbie question, but if R/O or DI water is not available is distilled water the best for topping off?,

I did use the Great Value from walmart distilled water, its not a smart idea.
I test the water and it was high on no2!

I used the water from their RO system that is usually at the front of the store and it tested clean in my area.

Not the water prepacked in milk jugs in the grocery section, but they have a filter where you can fill bottles for about 37 cents a gal.

Tested clean for me.

Before I got an RO/DI unit, I was hauling four 5-gallon jugs to Krogers to use the Culligan water machine. We got some funny looks at the checkout.
