Hello just purchase a 40 breeder for a sump for a 180 gallon I’m getting. I was wondering if anyone had drafts of how they did there sump or any ideas what works best for them. Thanks

I made this with a 30b and a 10g turtle tank...

It ran a 120g tank in both fresh water and reef application.
Simple to make and had all the compartments and space for equipment.
I have made several sumps and having an 18" wide sump is a PIA for using a sponge or mechanical media to polish water..
This made thing a whole lot easier to clean and maintain.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT A SUMP

there are several different ways to design a sump a lot has to do with your preference
and cleaning habits .
I myself use a stacked 3 tier set up with a make shift algae scrubber that runs into a open sump no baffles it houses my skimmer heater and reactor this makes for easy cleaning ,

here's when I first started building it basically pretty simple . over time I added a second skimmer as the first on fizzled out heater I've been trying to find a pict with the make shift algae scrubber but I can't find one at the moment, I in-cased all the pumps into a old canister filter making it look a little neater
