DIY Metal Halide Idea

I started doing a DIY metal Halide project and was running out ideas of what to use to enclose it because I didn't really want to use wood.

While at Lowes today I found a galvanized steel planter in the garden section which measures 9" x 24" for $12. It is also 7" tall. This should make a fairly good cheap steel enclosure.

This is what I plan on using and thought if anyone else needed an idea on what to use it might help.

i like the idea of the metal planter box. should work great. what kind of balast are you using and where did you get it?

I just picked up a kit here www.aquaticlight.com

Then I picked up a 10k 175watt bulb from www.insidesun.com for $30.

If anyone comes up with better prices let me know

Sheesh these are inexpensive!! In AU I would have to pay up to $500 for MH lights for my aquarium.. probably a LOT more in fact.
