Just curious, I was checking out my fuge earlier and noticed some shells or white copepods clinging on the chaeto but not moving? Could it be that there dead or is it the shell from the molt?

Yup! I believe all crustaetions molt, thats how they grow.

Yes they molt. I see the skins floating in my tank every now and then.

I agree, for some reason, my critters will eat a shrimp's molt, but not the "pods".....kind of strange. Mayeb there are so many, or they molt fast and the clean up crew doest'n get to them....

I watched this great presentation about pods and it showed how they move through the water and how fish can track them through the ripple they leave behind them as they travel. The fish might think the molt is an actual pod because mine have eaten the molt as well. Yes, I thought a presentation on pods was entertaining all jokes welcomed!
