Do emerald crabs come out?

I bought one from the LFS but the tank had no rocks in it. Since I've added it to my tank I've seen it once and it was scurring to hide somewhere else. Is this the norm or is he just getting used to home? If so, he's kinda lame...lol

Anyone have one?

I used to hand feed mine. it took some time for it to realize I wasn't a predator though. Remember, these have the instinct to protect themselves by whatever means necessary. They aren't too high up in the food chain.

Check it out after lights out. Also when you add new corals if there's any algae on it, it will pick it clean.

Mine comes out when ever I feed the tank in fact all my hermits go nuts as well as soon as food hits the water

I have 2 of them in my 75 gallon and both mostly come out when lights off or on LED ... Rarely during the day.

Be careful with emeralds if you have corals, I had to get rid of mine, he ate an expensive GSP rock.
