Do fish hear?

Do fish hear? I was downstairs and I went upstairs to my aquarium to find a super loud noise coming from my pump. I am worried I hurt their ears lol.

they hear in two aspects

feeling vibrations and hearing sounds, which is why its not good to tap on the glass of aquariums as its liek a pounding to them
