So if I have snails and crabs in a tank that has ich can I move them to another tank without transfering the ich?

No, you risk transfering the parasite as well. C. irritans can encysts on any hard surface.

I disagree. I believe eveything should be quarantined. Like Steve-s stated, C irritans can attach to any hard surface.
I understand it is remote that a tranference can happen this way, but if the inverts come from a tank with fish, I would qt. JMO

Most don't qt them, I am definately in the minority.
LR, the curing time is like a qt. Live sand, there is no way to do it .
Inverts that are in a fishless system are OK too.
