Do 'nem's like it rough?

A couple days ago i got a LTA and clarkii clownfish. Both are pretty small, but the clown looks like he beats on the 'nem like a redheaded stepchild. Is this normal? Are nems masochists?

Yes, they like it rough. My clown beats my bta up everyday. To the point it's the size of a dollar coin. It's at least 7 years of this.

wow you have a 7 year old nem that shrinks that small?

I don't think the nems like it. From what I understand a clownfish hosting an unestablished nem that is too small can potentially kill it. Other issues can arise such as the nem splitting from being stressed out by the clown.
