I'm wondering if there is any point in keep old crusty dried up coraline algae from a used setup. I'm going to be upgrading to a 120G and it has TONS of old crusty dried up coraline on the glass. I want to scrap it off to clean things up but can the old stuff help to seed a tank with coraline??

I will only keep it all for helping to seed base rocks if it is of help, otherwise its gone cause it stinks and is VERY ugly dried up.

Please let me know, thanks
Mike
