*Eclipse System How To Upgrade Lighting? Retrofit Kits?*

My friend has a 29gal. Eclipse system and he wants to upgrade the lighting to power compacts. He has founs retrofit kits. One site has one that is 65watt. he has 2 bulbs 18w each for total of 36. Has anyone changed there Eclipse lighting? If so how??

I too want to upgrade my lighting for my eclipse hood.
I was thinking about DIY buy changing the ballast and endcaps and cutting some holes in the hood to add some fans.
I will keep an eye on this post to see what other people have done.

If you search on the web you may still be able to find some of the Custom Sealife retrofit kits that were made for the Eclipse hoods. There were two of them as I recall, one was a 32 watt and I am not sure about the other. They basically were made to fit right where the current lighting already is without having to cut or modify the plastic. HTH, Skip
