elegance coral

hey all, does anyone have any experience with elegence corals? This has been on my wish list for a while but I can not find a nice looking one locally and i do not want ot order one on-line because i want to hand pick it. these are very beautiful but most that I have seen are pretty beat up from shipping. Anyone out there have one? how well do they do in capivity? Thanks!

elegance used to be one of the beginner corals, however over the last 7 years it is quite rare to get one to make it past a month. If you really want one, I suggest keeping your eyes open and wait for one that has been in the LFS and healthy for at least a month.

I agree with Kevin.. There is a Topic Over on ReefCentral where Eric is studying why Elegance corals are becoming so hard to keep... I have personally had one and It lasted approx 3 weeks.. It seems about the 3 week period is when they start to die back.. I would definetly take Kevins advice and have the LFS hold onto it for at least 1 month and if its still alive then it would be IMO worth taking home..

Good points. My LFS had a beut of a piece come in about a month ago, now I'm wondering when they're going to take it out. It looks horrible.
