Element questions

Calcium and Calcium Carbonate? What is the difference? Are Strontium and Magnesium completely different things?

Calcium carbonate is formed by combining calcium chloride, sodium carbonate and magnesium chloride/sulfate. It's the process hard corals use to grow. Aragonite sand is calcium carbonate.

Strontium and magnesium are 2 totally different things.
