If they die it will. I have never seen one catch a healthy fish, nor have I seen one go after a swimming fish.

I have a few that always try but they can never really grab on to one. They also try to reach at my cleaner shrimp often but are unsuccessful.

Emeralds are typically fish safe, it's just your corals you need to worry about. They are mostly algae eaters, but if they get a taste for soft corals, they can pretty much demolish a colony in short order. It's a dice roll with them..... some report never having an issue, and some are looking to get them out within a day.
Wanna calculate the cost of that new reef tank?? Take your worst nightmare, double it, and you're halfway there.

I kept mine with fish and shrimp and no issues although not sure I'd keep one with a wrasse due to burying itself in the sand IMO
