My emerald crab loves eating my xenia for some reason, even though there is ample algae to grase on.


Please advise! Thanks

I thought they were "reef" safe, even without caution
 
Emerald crabs are known to be opportunistic feeders...It's really a gamble with them. Might want to return him. I've heard stories where they catch and eat inverts/ small fish...
 
This is why I no longer own emerald crabs. I don't care what they say there by no means safe, like the other poster stated they will eat anything if the opportunity arises. I wouldn't take that chance with my corals.

I saw one cut a head off my zoa colony and well... That was it! Out out out it came. Put it in a tank with SW and brought it back the next day.
