I am looking at getting the 96 watt coralife aqualight power compacts for my 30 gallon reef tank. I was just wondering if 3 watts per gallon is gonna be enough for most reef stuff. PLEASE HELP

What type of reef stuff do you plan on keeping? 96 watts of PC lighting is on the low side. You could get away with some mushrooms and maybe some soft corals but definitely not many hard corals would do well.

IMHO you should be able to keep all corals that require medium lighting.. There is alot of them out there.. It is on the low side at 3.2watts per gal but for most low to medium light corals it should be fine.. I would surely recommend a single 175watt or 250watt bulb for the tank.. you would be much happier with that selection and if you check on ebay you might be able to find it for around the same price as the 96watt
