Epsom Salt as magnesium supplement?!?

is it possible to use epsom salt as a magnesium supplement since it is magnesium sulfate. oppinions please...

I have heard that you can, but never tried it. I am using tech-m, made by kent.

You can but make sure you don’t overdose (use a magnesium test kit) and read ”Magnesium in Reef Aquaria” so you have a better understanding of how to use Epsom salt and what other chemical reactions you have to watch out for when using.

A mixture of magnesium chloride hexahydrate with magnesium sulphate with work better ionically.
See Randy Holmes-Farley's formula 2 part calcium alkalinity replacement, for the magnesium replacement part. (to me it's actually a 3rd part for the formula)
I forget just off hand if it's 5 parts chloride to 1 part suphate or 8 to 1, but his revised home made formula has it listed.
