euro-reef 5-2 skimmer foaming like mad

I have a new skimmer, a euroreef 5-2 and for the love of me I cant get it so that its not completely overflowing the colection cup with water. The bubble production is amazing, I have the raiser tube lifted up about an inch and the water left in my sump is about 1/2 to 1 inch below the top of the main skimmer assembly, so the neck is about 1inch out of the water. Does anyone have any ideas? I left it on without the collection cup, hoping it will settle down by the time I get home from work.

It needs to be in shallower water. Only run it witht he water a few inches" over the pump. Also you can lower the riser tube all the way down. That should help alot. If you cannot lower the water level in the sump you will have to raise the skimmer.

and...... if you're using a slime coat producer you will have the same affect....
