Expected Life of AP Test Kits

Does anybody know the expected life for AP test kits? Mine are about 3 years old (at least that's how long I've had them, no telling how old they actually are). Anyways, I just moved, put all new water in my tank (1 clown and some corals and inverts) very lightly loaded. I had been kinda slack on testing prior to the move. Been set up for 3 weeks now Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate have read 0 everyday. NOt that I'm complaining, I just don't know if I believe it. I expected an ammonia spike from LR die off from the move. And I know I feed sparingly, but I still can't believe my Nitrates are 0.

"So long, and thanks for all the fish."

Look on the test bottle label for the lot number...the last two digits is the date it was manufactured. I would guess that test kits have a similar expiration date as prescription or OTC drugs...no more than two years.
