Fan Algae

My friend gave me a dead fan algae, but it has non-toxic glow-in-the-dark paint on it. I'm going to soak it in saltwater in a bucket for a day, will it then be safe to put into my aquarium?

"So..what's YOUR game?"

You mean a dead gorgonian (i.e. sea fan)?

If that is what you are talking about then it won't last long in an aquarium. All the soft inverts, when dead, like the sand dollars, star fish, and sea fans will disintegrate over time in the water.
