fan on my lighting system?

i just got a new lighting system (satellite w/4ea 65watt PC and 2 moonlights).

there is a fan in the unit that is pretty loud. is this fan required? can i opt to run the lighting system without the fan?

yea it will get alot hotter ! on my jbj light i took the plastic shield off to help the hot air escape ! my fans are real loud as well

you know, i've been fighting my noisey system for a while now (i just setup the tank with water and all my pumps and sump -no sand or rock yet). i have made some progress tweaking the noise. so when i got my lights and turned them on, i was disappointed with the noise the fan makes.

Buy a small computer fan from Radio Shack.

If you can return it get a coralife hood. The fans are silent!
