I have been thinking about adding one or two feather dusters to my 75 gal set up. I know they are filter feeders, but is there any special food required for them? When I inquired at the LFS they said adding phytoplankton in a must. Of course they have a refrig full of the stuff starting at $14/ bottle. I thought I read here somewhere that it is not recommended and will only end up fouling your water.

Any suggestions on this? I figured this is the best place to start.

Thanks,

If you want to dose phytoplankton, don't use the frozen stuff. Try Kent's Phytoplex. It's got a good shelf life and doesn't have to be kept in the freezer.

most will say to use the blender mush !! otherwise if ya use the shelf product go with the fridge stuff over any kent product imo !!!

Thanks, Is the recipe for blender mush as well as the amouts to feed available somewhere on the site?
