figure 8 puffer??

Where does a figure 8 puffer belong?? I have heard so my things, freshwater, brackish, saltwater. I rescued 2 from a dumpy little petstore that had them in saltwater. I tried one in freshwater once and he didn't make it....I read so many different things I don't know what to do, they seem to be ok in my sw tank..anyone know??

not so sure about figure eight puffers, but spotted puffers are a brackish water fish.

they are originally freshwater, but some freshwater and brackish puffers have been known to acclimate to sw
