I have a eheim Ecco pro external filter , how long should I leave I before I change my filter media

I'm not familiar with that particular filter or what's in it, but on my canister, I have 8 foam pads and I change 1 every week to keep nitrates in check. And I'll periodically change out a little biomax and the chemipure. Don't want to change everything at once, though.
