filter change?

how often do you guys change out your filter on your power filter and how bout the prefilter on a powerhead how often should that be rinsed out? i dont want to start another cycle if i do it to early my tank has been cycled for about 2 weeks and i have 2 turbos one cleaner shrimp 1 nessarius snail and its a 29gal and a few unknown hitchhikers.

On the prefilters I rinsed them weekly. The powerfilter (I had a penguin 170) I also washed the sponge material weekly to keep the detritus down. I changed the filter itself monthly.

depends. AquaClear filter sponges last a couple of years before they need to be replaced. If you use a HOB that has disposible media cartridges...well I guess follow the label and enjoy an empty wallet
