My small internal filter has just started randomly blowing spurts of tiny bubbles. It's ok for a few mins, then annoyingly blows a stream of microbubbles into the tank!

What could be causing it?

Have you cleaned the filter?

Not recently, no! On Wednesday during my PWC I'm going to change over my carbon and PURA pads in it, but wasn't intending doing any other maintenance with it, what would you recommend doing with it?

:)

When I clean mine, I pull it all apart and rinse everything. Rinse your media in the old SW and clean the other parts.
Is it running smoothly? What brand is it?

Yeah it seems to be running smoothly, it's an Arcadia Classica, just a small internal filter to supplement my LR.

It's got a number of PURA pads in it, which need replacing monthly anyway, along with the carbon. I'll just give it a good clean on Thursday.
