Filtration for 70 gals -canister ok?

Hi

I am thinking of converting my 4ft 70 gal tank to SW and using a canister filter and HOB skimmer. I know there is info out there on different filtration methods but I am sadly turning into a couch potato on weekends ( beautiful weather outside ) researching. Has anyone actually had success with this type of filtration for SW? I have been keeping a look out in the classifieds for a sump but no luck so far plus I love the look of my existing tank so if I can convert it, it would save me time constantly trying to find another one.

Thanks for the link. I thought I would be ok with my suggestion after reading your link as it re-inforced what I understood but my LSF said otherwise because if the power turns off the rubbish goes back into the DT when you turn the power back on. This was simple enough for me to make a decision to keep looking for a full set up.
