Finally - 40 Breeder Reef Journal/Build Thread

Thanks. I'm excited. I'm hoping they'll be here tomorrow, but I'm not expecting them until Thursday.

I do have one question about placement. I know where I'm going to put the zoas, paly's, and the sps... but I don't know where to put the acan or the mushroom. Any suggestions on flow, light (high in the tank or low), etc? The mushroom was just a filler to get me up to the free shipping total.

My acan is doing great on the sandbed in my 29 with the 4 bulb t5ho's.

Good to know. Is the area that it's in relatively low flow or higher flow? I have several spots on the sand bed it could go depending on the flow.

I haven't heard of that one. I will definitely check it out! I'm looking to get some acans and mushrooms. thanks

Yeah, you should. I just got a tracking number, so they'll be here in the morning. I'll update with pics tomorrow evening once they're settled in.

I rescaped the tank today as well... wanted to make room for the corals, and also get a spot way up high for the sps, as I am wondering if it'll even do any good under my lighting.

lol K. If you order again in the future, try bluezooaquatics. They've got good prices and large coral. For $180 I filled my 75g half way with coral and nems which isn't bad at all and they've got free shipping on orders over $140.

I love the zoas in pic #2 (whatever they are called). They look great. I will have to look at ordering from him after I get done killing this first batch i got .

I'm starting to think that I want a mixed reef rather than sps dominant. I like the acans now... heck, I might even like chalices in person (though I don't in pics). I can finally see the start to this tank now.
