Finally did it! New Skimmer/Filter But.....

Noise! I change my old filter to a new one with a Red Devil Skimmer externally plumbed. The skimmer has a minor leak upon entrance which I need to fix but my overhang I noticed alot more noise bringing the water into my sump. What can I do to soften the noise? I have the Mag 7 returning the water to my tank. Thanks

What kind of standpipe/drain do you have?
Is your drain line submersed in the sump?
What is the diffrence in height between the sump water line and the end of the sump return line?
