I have a really nice big pulsating xenia that I picked up for $15. Yesterday I noticed he had been closed up for over a day and I was worried about him. Last night I did some rock rearangement and found a 6" bristle worm burrowed in the base of the coral. Obviously a hitchiker on my liverock. This morning morning my coral was opened up and happy looking. Was the worm stinging or eating my my coral to death?

I'm sure with one that big I've got tons of smaller ones too. I'll have to keep an eye on the situation.

most of the time, it's just a harmless bristle worm....that people think is a fireworm. But if it is indeed a fireworm that is in your tank, you should remove it. Fireworms will eat corals.
