Fish swimming room

When shopping for fish on the different websites and research articles, I have noticed they all have different stats for the same fish. One will say minimum 75 gallon and another will say 180 gallon. Then another will say 100 gallon. What gives? How do I determine which of my tanks would be the proper one for the fish?

I would listen to the more accredited site. When it comes to min requirements, I rely on LiveAquaria.

I've bought most of my fish and corals from Saltwater.com. Always have good stock from them but I noticed that they don't give much stats or info on their livestock. Haven't bought anything from Live Aquaria yet. Also been looking at That Fish Place. What do you think about them? They seem to have a pretty big inventory.
