Fluval 404 sucks (air) ????

Howdy All - My Fluval 404 continues to suck air into the canister, it has done this from day 1. This causes the filter to eject a burst of micro-bubbles every few minutes. I tried lubricating the o-ring with vaseline and this seems to have helped but I cannot eliminate the problem. ' anybody else have this problem? ' a soultion?

Fluval's are horrible for this, my 303 does the same thing, I've tried EVERYTHING, it just seems to be part of the design. I would NOT recommend this filter to anybody else in the future, I'd say go with a magnum 350, I've at least heard that those work well.

I've since converted my tank over to a sump system, and I'm going to be removing the fluval altogether next week and just using a Mag-5 instead...
