Confused about one thing:

If I only have two powerheads in positions P1 and P2, and main pump on MP, when the program switches to P3, do I essentially have no powerhead flow, and only the main pump on?

I don't have one, but unless it is powering two of the three outlets at one time...yes, at P3 the only thing running is the main pump.

yes that is correct, I have one and that is what it does. You would think they would have made it so that it know what outlet has a powerhead plugged into it and not power the ones that don't have a powerhead plugged into it.
