Have you ever thought of making your own food? There is a thread in this section called let's talk food with some recipes in there if you want to check it out.

Can't link on my phone but it's in aquaria section like over 180 threads down. It's basically shrimp , scallop , clams, white meat fish , vitamins and nori all chopped in a food processor and frozen flat in a ziplock bag

Making your own food is a great way to go. Economical and better for the fish.

I have tried both and they seem equivalent. The gels seem to hold the food together in a current better.
