My peppermint shrimp love to eat shrimp, but I'm always concerned about pieces getting away and decomposing under rocks, etc. Besides, I want to see the shrimp eat. So, I used a small bamboo skewer and impaled a 1/4" piece of raw shrimp on it, and then stuck the end into the sand. My peps were on it before I could get my hand out of the tank.
