Got My New T-5's

I received my T-5 retro kit on friday glued them to my hood wired them up and NOTHING! man was I annoyed. I was tired so I went to bed and planned to mess with them the next day (it was like 11:30pm). So the next day I had alot to do I didnt get home till 8:00pm , I started to rewire everything and.... NOTHING! I think im wiring them wrong so I start searching the web for wiring diagrams and everything says im doing it right. I try multiple configurations and still get nothing. I think maybe the ballasts are bad, but what are the chances of 2 being bad?( 2 ballasts 4 lights) So frustration sets in and I go to bed. Next day this is sunday now I wake up and test the ballast basically just cutting 4 pieces of wire and plugging it in to the ballast and touching the wire to the ends of the bulb, It worked!! So now im thinking what could I be doing wrong? I rewire it and still NOTHING. frustration sets in so I go watch TV when it hits me...... The wires where pre stripped all I had to do was plug them in seems easy enough, but what I didnt think about is what if I shoved them in to far????? Which is what I did The copper connectors in the end caps where touching the plastic insulation not the copper wire. Man did I feel like a genius and and idiot all at the same time. After stripping a little more plastic off the wire everything works perfect. So I learned a little lesson , hopefully this will help, so none of you have this problem. I love my T-5's they look great.

The end caps snap into a base that has holes in it to screw them on, but my hood is made of black acrylic so I glued the bases on
