I tried searching in previous posts, but couldn't find help.

I have a film of green algae on the arcrylic sides of my tank. I just got past the brown slime algae stage. I was told that was due to all the new dead rock I added, which seamed to be correct.

Anyway, in the pic (ignore the reflection of the recliner) you can see the green algae on the inside of the tank. I also have cloudy water, which I am assuming is algae floating in it.

I removed the green algae from the arcrylic today, but it came back, so it makes sense that it's in the water. I cleaned out my canister filter and added fresh salt water to that, but still have the green algae. Any ideas what the cause is or how I can get rid of it?

I reduced the automatic lighting time to 11am to 9pm for actinic and 3pm to 6pm for the daylight.

I was told for cloudly water activated carbon works.

Wait for another member though.

I don't know why your water is cloudy but carbon may help. The green film algae is natural and normal. Just have to wipe the glass down every other day or so.
