That is one step in nutrient export. Make sure you are reducing food going in and are doing water changes with ro/di water as well.

I forgot to mention I cut my feeding to once every other day or so and I do about a %15 water change weekly with rodi water

Good maintenance routine. To get those numbers down, you will need a large water change to start the process off.
