Green star polyp turning white

I have my green star polyp is is hanging on the glass with a veggie clip just to get it to attach to the glass
The part that's in the clip it's turning white like a whitish rim on it
What is that

If you look closely you can see the white stuff under the clip

I can't really see what you're talking about, but my guess the white you're seeing is dead (or dieing) tissue. I can't imagine it's too happy about being smashed in the clip. I'm thinking you could just superglue it to the glass?
 
So would I have to take it out put super glue and stick it to the tank?
I can try it
For now I'll remove it from the clip
 
super glue GEL, not the regular kind. yes, take it out squirt some glue on it, and slap it on the glass.
