Im thinking of starting a culture! As here in the UK its the start of summer i was thinking of starting it in a south facing window seal. Will this be ok?

Once summer is over i was going to just grow it under a normal energy saving bulb in a reflective pot. Is this ok? Or does it need to be a fluorescent lamp?

To grow my isochrysis cultures i use 2 liter bottles with a clip on shop light that has a powerful cfl in it. I run the light 12 hours a say or so. This setup works like a charm for me.

As for using the sunlighr, it depends. Give it a try growing some under artificial light and the windowsill at the same time. Compare the results
