I bought a large colony of gsp about a month ago and I read how they spread quickly how long does it take them to start spreading and is there any way to get them to be brighter green

Depends on water conditions, lighting, flow, all kinds of things.

I've had mine for over 2 months and while it's getting bushier and huge it hasn't spread yet.

Carey I'm with you I have heard all kinds of horror stories about it getting out of control and mine just seems to get bushier no spread yet I think it would look awesome to have it cover the substrate

I have the rock already picked out that I want i to spread too! Just isnt moving, but I'm sure alot of people would say just wait in a few months you'll be hating it spreading. lol

I just want some more color in my tank, I have almost all frags so the corals havent really taken over yet.
