Could be awhile. Just dont miss out on your water changes and try to remove as much algae as possible! You could get a pulsing xenia rock (try to keep is isolated though as it does spread quickly).

Do you have room for an HOB AC50 or AC70? they are clear and work well to just house some macro algea. if thats the route you want to go.

I got a question.

I am running an ac hob and have a huge hair algae / phosphate issue.

You mention macro algae? What is it and how would I go about adding it to my AC? I currently have just the filter sponge and some bio media in it.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

Aqua clear. Get an aqua clear 110 and fill it full of cheato algea. It will outcompete the HA

the 110 is now the aquaclear 70. google aquaclear refugium conversion and there are a lot of articles out there showing you how to do it. I used one when my picotope was a reef and it worked wonders.

Reefcleaners.org is a good source for macro algaes cheatomaphora is a spahgetti like algae that is great for nutrient export.
