Hard shell Clam????

I was thinking of trying a few little neck clams or Maine mahogany clams in my FO fuge. Anyone have any thoughts....
They are still alive in the supermarket and I may be able to get some off the LI sound. My only real issue is if there real fresh getting them adjusted to the water temp. I was thinking they would help clean the water up..... What do you guys think?

www.octopets.com has 1/4 to 1/2 in clams in 100 pack for 15$. They are originally sold to feed to cuttlefish and octopus but are also great to put in refugiums to keep your nitrate down.

Nobody else has any thoughts on this????????
Was going to set up a 10 gal and run it with a few in it to see how they adjust. Raise the temp a little at a time over a week period.
