heater questions

just wondering what kind would be good enough for my 40 gallon tank?
what is the average water temp.?

how many watts do i need?

any info will be greatly appreciated!!=]

i use a 150 watt submerisble marineland heater for my 30 gal and it keeps the temp. very consistent

Get one of the larger ones and it will be prefect. Avg water temp is 79-82 with most people....this is the best range.
The wattage is on the box most of the time with the size of the heater
