I have two 300w visatherm heaters in my tank. I am noticing that in the mornings the temp is 78 and in the day 80. We keep the heat on at night also, so are my heaters not working like they should? I touch them and they feel warm. Any ideas? New heaters? I am just used to the temp always being 80 and I want it to stay that way.

150 gallon... 7 watt/gal VHO Lighting

Given that you have 1050 watts of light, your tank lights are raising the water temp to 80F during the day.

You know, I bet you are right. In the summer it always stayed constant at 80, then sometime in september I installed more lights. Maybe I just didn't notice then. What a dumb question , o well, solves the mystery lol.
