I got a Tenecor 100 gal tank and it's in great condition but I'm lost on what I need for the internal filters that go in the back of my tank. It did come with bio balls I know they go in the center and it had two holes for water to come back in.

Welcome to the community. You are wanting to make this a SW tank? I am sure some one will have some sort of info to help.

What I do understand is that for SW, Bioballs have the drawback of being muck catchers and trap it in the balls, which needs to be rinsed often to avoid raising Nitrates.

I would add some good bacteria for biological filter also some live rock or something that they can live in. You should also add a filter sock to get rid of any bigger items such as food. Also, you should add a protein skimmer.
